To set up Polymarket copy trading with PredScout, choose a trader, decide which position changes to follow, set your own spending limits, and review the execution rules. Begin in Paper mode so you can learn how those choices behave with simulated funds.

The strategy builder requires a PredScout account. You can inspect traders publicly on Smart Traders, then sign in when you select Copy or open New copy strategy.

A trader card, settings sliders and review checklist illustrate setting up Polymarket copy trading in Paper mode.

1. Pick a target trader

Open a trader's Details page and read its history, trading style, and typical buy size. You can use Copy this trader to carry that wallet into setup, or paste a Polymarket wallet address in the builder. Check the full address, especially if two traders have similar display names.

Copy trading follows eligible future changes in the target wallet. It is not a way to duplicate all positions that wallet already owns. A trader who has stopped trading will not provide new signals to copy.

2. Choose the scope and position changes

The builder includes Trader, Scope, Position, Execution & risk, and Confirm stages. Under Scope, choose all qualifying markets or specific categories. A category filter keeps the strategy within subjects you understand, but it may reduce the number of trades you can follow.

Under Position, decide which target changes to follow. The interface distinguishes opening a position, adding to it, reducing it, and closing it. Read each choice carefully. For example, copying a buy without understanding how the strategy handles a later sale can leave you with a position you must manage yourself.

These decisions are central to Polymarket copy trading: a strategy follows your selected actions and markets, not every move a trader makes.

3. Set allocation, ratio, and one-trade limits

In a PredScout copy strategy, Allocation is the maximum capital the strategy can use. Copy ratio scales each target trade. If a wallet buys $200 and you choose 10%, the intended copy is $20 before market minimums and other controls. Max per-trade copy amount caps the size of one copied order; the builder says amounts above that cap are reduced to the cap.

The builder also offers target-trade size filters and a choice for intended copies below a market's minimum order. You can skip such a trade or review the available rounding option and its multiplier. Rounding up makes a small intended copy larger, so check its effect on your risk limits before using it.

Look at Estimated coverage after setting these values. It estimates how many of the target's recent trades would pass your filters. The builder identifies it as an estimate, not a backtest. A low value can mean your allocation, ratio, or filters would skip much of the wallet's activity.

4. Decide how orders execute

For Polymarket copy trading, execution settings matter as much as the size settings. In Execution & risk, review the execution mode and Max deviation from target fill price. A target price is what the wallet paid; your copy is placed later and can face a different order book. The interface gives an example in cents: a target buy at 52¢ with a 3¢ maximum deviation would stop a copy above 55¢.

Choose a Trade approval mode. Auto execute lets eligible trades proceed under your rules. Conditional approval asks you to confirm trades matching chosen conditions. Confirm each trade asks for manual approval every time; a fast market may move before you confirm. Select the option you can actually monitor.

Other available controls include a daily copied amount cap, a per-market cap, a daily loss limit, a maximum number of concurrent positions, and an option to skip low-liquidity markets. The builder also lets you choose when a strategy starts and how long it runs. Explain each setting to yourself before saving it; adding many tight limits can make a strategy copy very little.

5. Review and save in Paper mode

On Confirm, compare the target wallet, scope, position actions, allocation, ratio, per-trade cap, execution mode, price deviation, approval mode, and schedule with what you intended. Verify the top switch still says Paper, then use the Paper save action. If you are only exploring settings, use a save-only option when offered instead of starting the strategy.

Open Copy Trading to check that the strategy appears and whether it is running. The stats range on that page changes the displayed statistics and activity, not the strategy settings. Watch Recent copy activity for copied, skipped, pending, or failed signals, and read each record's reason before changing a rule.

You have set up Polymarket copy trading correctly when you can state which wallet you follow, which trades are eligible, how large a copied order can be, and when your approval is required. Paper results are simulated; review their limits before considering Live mode.
